Anything Organized Keeping Your Beverages Cold
I have a good friend who is quite good at keeping anything organized and is also very resourceful when it comes to keeping beverages cold. He has a number of coolers that he uses for the parties that he hosts at his house as well as for boating and other gatherings. Sometimes there will be a situation where you want to keep your beverages cold but you don't have a cooler. Last year when we went to a Packer game in Jacksonville Florida was such a situation. We had gone there for a mini vacation. We arrived by plane on Saturday morning. We golfed Saturday afternoon, went out for dinner on Saturday night and then went out on the town later that evening. Sunday was game day. We wanted to buy some beer to have a tailgate party before the game. Where we are from in Wisconsin buying beer is not that hard to do, it is sold all over. Not so in Jacksonville Florida. We had been driving around the area by the stadium for nearly an hour looking for a store that sold beer. We were getting worried that we would not be able to enjoy the tailgating experience in Florida. So we were happy to finally find a store that sold beer in spite of it being a seedy gas station in the ghetto part of the City. It was the only place we could find. It was kind of a store where the clerk is behind a thick layer of bullet-proof glass and you have to slide the money through the tray. My friend and I went in. Our other two friends we were traveling with stayed in the rental car. My friend told the driver to keep the motor running and be ready to go. We went in. We got a 12 pack and some of those big bottles of beer that the homeless drink out of. Kind of for a laugh. He told me to grab a bag of ice. I did although I knew we didn't have a cooler. I figured we would just be drinking the beer warm. When we got out of the store I asked him how we were going to use the ice with no cooler. He said to get in the car first, this isn't the kind of place to linger around talking about anything organized. He said that we need to get out of here. When we got to the parking lot by the stadium he took the top of the cardboard 12 pack container off and left the sides and bottom together. Once a couple of the bottles were out, there was plenty of room to pour a lot of ice in and around the rest. They stayed nice and cold for the time we were tailgating before the game. He had also told the clerk at the store to put the big bottles in a plastic bag instead of paper. He kind of tied up the top of the bag and put ice around the big bottles and they also stayed nice and cold. He thought of an ingenious way to keep the beverages cold. It just goes to show you how by thinking, you can get or keep anything organized and keep your beverages cold.
