8 Dirty Secrets of
Clutter Free Living

Do you really want to live clutter free? I mean it, do you want to eliminate clutter from your life, and live an easy life?

What I am going to tell you is shocking, but if you want a better life, an easier life, read these 8 dirty secrets of clutter free living right here:

1) You have to throw out perfectly good stuff. You cannot wait until something is worn out, broken, threadbare or useless. You have to be willing to get rid of it now.

2) You cannot wait to put something in the recycling bin or take it to charity or give it to someone who might need it. You have to put it in the trash today, right now. It has to be out of the house.

3) You will have to throw out things that you spent a lot of money on. The money is spent, it is gone. Holding onto something because you spent money on it is not the way to clutter free living.

4) You will throw away gifts from friends and relatives. You will have to live with this idea. Your family and friends may ask you about the gift they gave you - are you enjoying the so and so? You will have to either tell the truth that you do not have it anymore or tell a white lie. But you cannot hope to live a clutter free life by keeping everything anyone has ever given you. The whole idea of giving gifts to people and then expecting them to use those gifts just seems unbelievable. It is hard enough to find things for yourself that work for you, how can you expect others to find something for you?

5) You will have to throw out things that have never been used. I know it is hard to see something still in the package and toss it out. But this is your life. You have to be ruthless at times.

6) You will have to throw out things that others could use. You will see something in your home that you really don't want or takes up a lot of space and is of no real use to you. You may think that a friend or relative could really use the item. Think again. Now you have to contact that person and ask and spend time describing the item and waiting to see if they want it. They may want to look at it. Time is wasted on something like this. Most people have plenty of stuff and they are busy accumulating more. They do not need your help.

7) You will have to think critically about every purchase you make. You cannot just shop on-line, or from a catalog or at the store and buy stuff. You have to assure yourself that the item is really right for you. Now this method is a great method of conserving your cash. You spend time deciding if spending your money for a particular item is worth it.

8) You will have to think critically about everything you own. You have to look at all your things often enough and decide if those things are worth keeping. This way you are always in the process of becoming clutter free.
