End Procrastination
By Concentrating on Your Pain

One of the best ways to end procrastination is to be moved to action by your pain and frustration.

I have to admit that I get more out of reading articles that make me cry than those that try to make me laugh or inspire me.

I would say that anything that moves me to tears is in a way inspirational. Whenever I can feel the pain that someone endured and somehow got through it, I am inspired. It inspires me to act.

Maybe, it is because I have spent hours, days, weeks and months crying over what happened to me in my marriage and life. I can relate to the emotional pain of a bad relationship.

When I listen to my favorite songs by Phil Collins, I Don't Care Anymore, Sniff and the Tears, Tainted Love, Hootie and the Blowfish, Let Her Cry and REO Speedwagon, Time for Me To Fly, I will sing these songs at the top of my lungs and scream and cry as I remember. It is much better if I hear these songs alone obviously. Songs like this move me because whoever wrote them had to have had the deep painful bad relationship experience. Plus these guys can really sing. It isn't because these guys are my favorite artists either. I like other singers and bands a lot more. It is the actual song and the words and emotion of it.

I find I need to scream and cry about it once in awhile. I don't want to keep my emotions in check all the time.

I can also relate to physical pain and hardship. When I see news reports of U.S. planes dropping bombs on people I can imagine real people, just like me and you, dying. I can picture it and have extreme sadness over it. It can be hard to go on thinking this way. That is why so few people do it. There is no thinking involved.

I can picture a little boy starving. I can picture losing a loved one. I can picture a bad marriage.

All this stuff is real. End procrastination in your life by getting emotional over these problems.

Procrastinate is defined as: postpone doing what one should be doing.

You should know to not procrastinate shouldn't you? It is a bad habit. Even the word is ugly. It is long and hard to spell. That should tell you about it.

Think of all the bad things that happen to you when you do not end procrastination:

1. You don't get the work done on time. Now you look bad at work and are in danger of losing your job.

2. You don't get to the store earlier to get the gift your child really wants. Now they are sold out and your child will be disappointed.

3. You didn't go to the dentist when you should have. Now you are in extreme pain with a toothache.

4. You didn't tell your spouse what was bothering you. Now the time has passed and you cannot get along with each other at all.

5. You didn't stop for gas. Now when you really need it, your tank is low and you may run out.

6. You didn't start preparing for winter. Now it has started and you really have to struggle.

7. You didn't stop at the store for toilet paper and now you are in bad shape.

End procrastination by thinking of all the problems you will have if you do not act.
