Fathers Day Gifts

The best advice for getting, and receiving Fathers Day gifts is to ask the dad what he could really use. Not what he wants, not what he wishes for, but what he could use.

A lot of men are so unselfish that they never really ask for what they want or could use. When asked what they want, they will usually say something like, oh, I do not need anything, or anything will be fine.

The more I think about it, it is so obvious that this is the case. You see all kinds of men walking around in clothes that had to have been gifts. Things like garish ties, huge, misshapen shirts, ugly pants. I mean it would be funny except seeing all this is an affront to the senses.

I am not that well of a dressed guy, but really, seriously, these men do not have to look that bad.

I suppose the problem is that good clothes are much more expensive. That is why they are better. Plus it is so difficult to buy clothing for people without them trying it on.

If you are a dad and someone asks you what you want for a Fathers Day Gift, you should really have a small list of things that do not include clothes. That is a much safer alternative.

There is nothing nicer than receiving gifts from your children that you will actually use and enjoy and sometimes cherish for years or maybe forever.

Ask for the little inexpensive things that make your life a little nicer and better and that your kids can see you continue to use and enjoy.

Things like:

1) A small pocketknife. I love to carry a small pocketknife, it is just so handy.

2) Original coffee mugs. Maybe with your child's picture on it. I had a wonderful mug with a picture of me and my young son on it. I used this mug at work for years and was heartbroken when I dropped it and it broke.

3) A handy tool you could really use, such as pliers.

4) An addition to your favorite sport like golf balls, or a golf glove, or a fishing lure.

5) An addition to your hobby.

6) A gift certificate to your favorite store, restaurant or a gas card. With the high price of gas your elderly father will really love a gas card so he does not feel so guilty going for a drive.

7) A gift certificate to an on-line store.

8) Organizing products from a great store like this;

Organize.com has High Quality Father's Day Gifts!, Get Dad Something for the Grill, Office, or Home!

All these things I know I would love. And so would most men.

These types of gifts are great not only as Fathers Day Gifts but for all men at all gift giving times.
