Organize It It Being Money
Organize it, your money, and see your life get better. Money. What is it good for? Absolutely everything. Uh huh. For most of my life, my idea of saving money was to not spend it. I avoided buying things for myself as much as possible. I kept my desire for things under wraps. This is one way to avoid spending. It is the way most people do it. The I can't afford it crowd. The I really don't need it crowd. The I don't deserve it crowd. It does work. If you don't spend you will keep more. But it is not satisfying though. You are this way if you think other people should not have nice things. You are also this way if you think other people can have nice things but you cannot. Just why should some people have nice things and you should not? That makes no sense. Yet that is the way I thought and the way billions think. The truth is that whenever I spend money on something I want, I feel better. It doesn't matter what it is, either, if it was something I want or need. It is satisfying to have my needs and wants met. With that thought in mind, I have listed a couple of websites below that specialize in finding deals for things. We all feel better if we think we are buying something for a better deal. Most people do not want to buy stuff at its highest price, most people prefer to get some discount, whether it be a sale, coupon or lower at one place versus another. It's fun to find a lower price. Check out these site, it looks like they are pretty helpful:
1) Slick Deals.
2) New Deals.
Most of the time I just pay whatever the store says the item costs. I do look for sales, bring coupons and look for the lowest priced items but I have not haggled that much in a store. One time I did haggle with the insurance company of the guy who totaled my car. He rear ended my old car that was worth about $5,000 at the time. I researched the cost of my car and I ended up getting about $1,000 more from them than they originally wanted to pay. So I felt great about that. Check out this
article from The Washington Post about haggling.
It is pretty interesting and it is starting to inspire me to start haggling.
I need to get over my fear of negotiating. When I have done it, it has been fun and empowering.
Some people seem to have no fear of haggling and negotiating. My ex-wife liked to haggle and so does my sister. I think my mom even does it. Why should girls only be the ones to get a better deal?
I think part of the reason that women do more haggling than men is that they spend more time shopping and buying. In order to buy more stuff they need to spend less on each item. I tend to avoid shopping so whenever I do need something I am more into the finding and getting it mode. I overdo the organize it mentality, the getting it done and end up spending more.
Since haggling and negotiating is done all the time it really is not something to be afraid of. You can save yourself money if they agree. The worst they will say is no. Why wouldn't you try? Organize it, your ability to save money and start to haggle.
