Organized People
Know When to Quit

Organized people know when to quit. They do not keep doing something just because they have always done it.

I just finished watching Brett Favre play and lose in the NFC Championship game against the New Orleans Saints. The Saints really hit him and punished him. He has just been hit in the legs and it looks like his ankle has been sprained. There was a statistic that he has been hit 15 times.

I have wanted Brett to retire for the last few years. I loved watching him play and think he was the best player the Green Bay Packers have ever had. He kept the Packers in all kinds of games. But now, he is so much older than all the other players. He is just taking such a chance. I just hate to see men put their bodies on the line for the sake of a game.

It is a young man's game. What does he think is going to happen?

If I were him I would have been long gone. He could just quit right now.

To me, he has nothing to prove. He has won a Super Bowl, lost a Super Bowl, been in lots of playoff games, won lots of games, holds lots of records and is fairly well liked, even loved by countless people. He has made more money than 99 % of the world's population.

He can just make a living being Brett Favre. He could make a living just doing that.

Why does he feel the need to take such a chance with his life?

Doesn't he want to spend the rest of his life being able to walk around somewhat normally? Doesn't he want the full use of his mind? The hits that happen can be so horrific.

I guess I have no idea.

As Dirty Harry said, a man has got to know his limitations.

Organized people know that quitting something can be the best decision you will ever make:

1) Quitting Smoking.

2) Quitting drinking.

3) Quitting overeating.

4) Quitting being in an abusive relationship.

5) Quitting being a bully.

6) Quitting hurting others.

7) Quitting playing a sport that could seriously hurt you when you have nothing else to prove.

Join the ranks of organized people and stop doing things you no longer should be doing.
