Time and Freedom
I just heard again about time and freedom. I was listening to a video from
Dr. Joe Vitale.
He was explaining his concept of getting clear of your limiting beliefs about money. He said that if you believe that money is the root of all evil, no matter how much you work and do self affirmations to convince yourself that you deserve money it will be impossible because of your unconscious beliefs. He explained that the biblical saying is really the love of money is the root of all evil. He said that rich people do not love money they love time and freedom. Money is just a tool to obtain those things. My organization ideas are based on that love also. I love time and freedom. That is what I want the most. When I drill down to the core of my ideas it is all about living your life in such a way so as to obtain more time and more freedom. All the different tips and techniques are at their core, ways to get time and get freedom. If you have a lot of money it is possible to buy yourself time and possible to obtain freedom. Some people do not do this of course. They just stay busy making more money and not having time and freedom. My ideas are to go right to the core. Get time and freedom whether you have money or not. Having plenty of money will help, but it is possible to have some time and some freedom even without a lot of money. I chased money for years. I wanted the free time and measure of freedom that I thought more money would provide. I went to engineering school because it had a high starting salary. I went to grad school because I wanted to get more education to make more money. I worked 2, 3, 4 or more hours of overtime at night trying to make more money to pay off my debts for eventual freedom and to buy stuff for my wife so she would let me have some freedom. This way of doing things did not work. In fact it worked terribly. I spent almost 7 years in school getting more education to make more money so I could have more time. I am a professional engineer with 20 years of experience and I was laid off for four days with the threat of being laid off at any time. My divorce settlement is based on me working 60 to 70 hours a week. Now that I work a little over 40 you can probably guess how much extra cash I have. Working all that overtime made me to eat excessively, sleep little, get no exercise, developed no friendships and no hobbies. I have lost time at the end of my life due to dying younger because of my poor habits during those years. I have no friends in the area that I live. I never had time to develop friendships. Thankfully, I do have friends from before I got married, but I do regret not having any around here. I have no hobbies either. I just never had the time.
